  • Starlink, Elon Musk’s satellite-based internet service, is now available in Zimbabwe, but you can’t buy it from local retail shops just yet. Authorized retailers like Frampol and Dandemutande can sell Starlink to businesses, but if you’re an individual, you’ll need to order directly from the Starlink website.

Here’s how to place your order and what you need to know:

    - The kit price: $350 for the Standard Kit or $200 for the Mini Kit.
    - Shipping fee: $23.

Note that you won’t be charged for the subscription during the order process. The monthly subscription fee ($50 for Standard, $30 for Mini) will only be charged when you first activate your Starlink account after receiving the kit.

    Sarlink payment methods

    6. Choose a Payment Method
Starlink accepts the following payment methods in Zimbabwe:
    - Credit or Debit Cards: Use an international Visa or MasterCard from local banks like Banc ABC, Steward Bank, or FBC.
    - Mobile Money Virtual Cards: Alternatively, you can use virtual cards from EcoCash or O’mari.

Payments are processed in USD, as local currency options (ZiG) are not available for Starlink purchases in Zimbabwe.

    7. Complete Your Payment
Ensure your card has enough funds to cover:
    - The kit price ($350 or $200).
    - The $23 shipping fee.
    - Card processing fee, which are generally about 5% of the total payment.

For example, if you’re purchasing the Standard Kit, the total would be $373, plus about $18.65 for card processing fees. Make sure to account for these additional charges to avoid payment issues.

    8. Place Your Order
After reviewing the total costs and entering your payment details, place your order. Starlink will send you a confirmation email once the payment is processed, and your kit will be shipped to your provided address.

    9. Receive Your Kit
Once your Starlink kit arrives, you don’t have to pay any additional customs duties as they are already factored into the total price.

    Key Points to Remember
    - Retail Sales: Starlink kits are not available in local retail shops. Authorized resellers like Frampol and Dandemutande only sell to businesses.
    - USD Payments Only: Unlike some African countries, Zimbabwean customers must pay in USD, as local payment systems ZIG is not supported.
    - Subscription Charges : Subscription fees are not charged during ordering. You will only be billed for the monthly subscription when you first activate your account.

By following these steps, you’ll be able to order Starlink directly from the website and soon enjoy high-speed internet access in Zimbabwe.
