  • The long wait is finally over. The Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) has released the 2025 Grade Seven results, and for many parents, this will be the first time accessing them online. Instead of waiting for physical slips from schools, ZIMSEC now makes the results available digitally - a faster, more convenient system that you can use from home, on your phone or laptop.

If you’re new to this online platform, don’t worry. The process is straightforward, and all you need are a few key details about your child.

What You Need Before You Begin

To protect your child’s information, ZIMSEC requires guardians to register before accessing results. You will need:

    • Your child’s full name

    • Their candidate number

    • Their centre number

    • Their date of birth

These details help ZIMSEC verify the candidate and ensure results are only accessed by authorized guardians.

How to Access the Results Online

    1. Visit the official ZIMSEC website: www.zimsec.co.zw

    2. Click on “View Results”

    3. Select your province

    4. Choose “Register New User”

    5. Fill in the guardian consent form

    6. Enter your child’s details (candidate number, name, centre number, DOB)

    7. Create your account by providing a username and a secure password

    Important Note About Passwords

The system requires a strong password that must include:

    • A capital letter

    • A number

    • A special character (such as ! @ # $ %)

If these rules are not followed, the system may show an error saying your child’s details “were not found.”
This usually means the password is not strong enough, not that the candidate details are incorrect.

A Look at the 2025 Results

Announcing the results in Harare, ZIMSEC board chairperson Professor Paul Mapfumo shared the national performance statistics.

“The total number of candidates who sat for the Grade Seven 2025 exam session was 389,626.
Of these, 188,930 passed all six subjects, recording a 48.49% national pass rate.

This reflects a slight decline of 0.52% from the 2024 pass rate of 49.01%.”

While the drop is modest, it provides valuable insight into national performance trends and areas that may need attention going forward.

A Growing Digital Shift for Parents

For many families, this online system marks a new way of engaging with the school examinations process. It removes the long waits, the travel, and the uncertainty that often came with collecting physical slips. With just a few clicks, parents can now view results instantly a major improvement for convenience.

There may still be small quirks in the system, especially around password creation, but overall, this digital platform represents a significant step in modernizing Zimbabwe’s education services.

To all the Grade Seven learners across the country; well done for reaching this milestone. And to the parents, congratulations as well. Your support over the years has helped guide your children to this moment.
